Agricultural Technology Expo
An exhibition on agricultural technology has been held on 15 November 2001 at PPK Sg Chenaam, Nibong Tebal, Seberang Perai. This exhibition was officiated by the Agriculture Minister of Malaysia, YB Dato' Dr Effendi Hj Norwawi.

This event was organised by Lembaga Pertubuhan Peladang (LPP) and other Government agencies such as FAMA, Fisheries Department and Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan (PPK).


During the exhibition, the Minister has also launched PadiNet web site and this was witnessed by VIPs such as the Chairman, Director General and Deputy Director General of LPP. The Minister expressed hope that PadiNet will achieve success and benefit the padi farming community in Malaysia.

The chairman of LPP Prof. Datuk Dr Alang Perang Zainuddin also expressed full support for the implementation of PadiNet. With this, Prof Datuk Dr. Alang Perang Zainuddin will witness the signing of Memorandum of Understanding between LPP and TMM Biotech Sdn Bhd (TMMBT) scheduled on 13 December 2001.

Other VIPs attended this event including Agricultural Exco for Pulau Pinang, ADUN for Sg Chenaam, corporate figures and more than 2500 members representing various PPKs from all over the country.

Private sectors took the opportunity to display their agricultural technologies and products in which TMMBT showcased AKISNet web initiatives and its Community Outreach Program - PadiNet.
